McKenzie Burkard, a Bainbridge Island based singer songwriter, has been passionate about making music since learning to play guitar at age thirteen. Her songs follow themes of growing up, navigating relationships, and finding identity. Combining acoustic guitar with personal, poetic lyrics, she paints a picture of the experiences of a young person finding her way in life’s ever changing landscape. She is inspired by artists like Cat Stevens, Passenger, and Dodie, and listeners compare her vocals to Natalie Merchant and Brandi Carlile.
Katja is a 15 year old freshman at Eagle Harbor High School. She’s been singing in school talent shows since 2nd grade. She started taking guitar lesson around 5 years ago, and shortly after she started performing for family and friends at parties and events. That’s where she really found her passion for music and her love of performing. She wrote her first song for an 8th grade passion project, called Drive. Katja’s musical theatre credits include 13 the Musical, and We Are Here:an Anti-Bullying Cabaret. Always looking for an opportunity to perform, she has played several gigs around town and frequently plays at WEAVE Presents’ Open Mic Night.
